Curriculum Overview

Program sessions include a kick-off on 10/6/26, followed by Session 1 on 10/20/26, Session 2 on 11/17/26, Session 3 on 12/15/26, Session 4 on 2/16/27, Session 5 on 3/16/27, and Session 6 on 4/20/27. The program concludes with Graduation on 5/13/27.

what will the participants learn?

Through an immersive, cohort-based experience, participants develop leadership skills across three critical levels.

  • At the self level, leaders deepen their emotional intelligence, clarify personal values, and build sustainable practices that support resilience and intentional action.

  • At the team level, participants strengthen their ability to communicate effectively, listen at deeper levels, navigate conflict, and understand group dynamics to build high-functioning, inclusive teams.

  • At the organizational level, the program explores vision & purpose; adaptive leadership; intercultural competence; and the role of active citizenship in shaping thriving organizations and communities.

Session 1:

Setting the Stage for Leading with Purpose

  • Know the names of the group and how you can work together to maximize learning

  • Understand the purpose and journey of LEAD Adams

  • Define your goals for your leadership development

  • Identify your top three core values

Session 4:

Interpersonal Mastery at the Team Level

  • Differentiate between groups, teams and organizations

  • Recognize and influence group dynamics

  • Analyze your team for effectiveness

  • Practice the roles leaders can play in teams

  • Lead an effective meeting with psychological safety

Session 2:

Leading with Emotional Intelligence

  • Understand the importance of Emotional Intelligence for effective leadership

  • Use Emotional Intelligence for your personal development

  • Generate greater self-awareness about your personal tendencies

  • Improve and build productive habits that elevate your Emotional Intelligence

  • Communicate your noble purpose

Session 5:

Leading Organizations & Community Leadership

  • Reflect on the current state of your organization

  • Create or refine your organization’s vision & purpose

  • Name how your organization contributes to public purpose

  • Cultivate a leadership strategy for your organization

Session 3:

Sustaining Energy & Leading with Effective Communication

  • Learn and practice self-renewal techniques

  • Distinguish between sympathy and empathy

  • Practice empathetic listening

  • Recognize the impact of cognitive bias on your leadership practice

  • Navigate a difficult conversation in the context of your leadership role

Session 6:

Inclusive Leadership

  • Tell your authentic personal leadership story and how it has been shaped by your culture

  • Reflect on your organziation’s culture and the leadership’s role in shaping an inclusive culture

  • Define and practice psychological safety in your organizations
